New Public Option Plan to Roll Out Next Week

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has tapped Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware to develop a new public option plan that will thread the needle between its Democratic supporters and opponents, and perhaps pick off a couple of Republicans. Carper has been in discussions with Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe. The plan is expected to be unveiled next week. You can read The Hill's reporting on the alternate plan here.
