Why Has Support for Health Reform Faltered?

Kaiser Health News offers a substantive analysis of why the health care reform initiative seems to have lost support among the American people. Among the problems cited are a failure to articulate the benefits of the program for the vast majority of Americans who are insured through their employers and are satisfied with their coverage. Adjustments to Medicare made it easy to concern seniors. Talk of additional taxes confused and worried people. Also unpopular was the public deal-making to get a bill that would be acceptable to constituencies whose interests varied widely. You can read Kaiser's analysis here.
