Ben Nelson Wants All States to Get the Nebraska Medicaid Deal
Senator Ben Nelson negotiated a sweet deal with Majority Leader Harry Reid whereby his home state of Nebraska would have any increases in its Medicaid costs caused by health reform to be covered by the federal government in perpetuity. The Cornhusker Kickback has been widely criticized. Today the Associated Press reports that Sen. Nelson wants that same deal for all the states (and asserts that this is what he wanted all along): "At the end of the day, whatever Nebraska gets will be available to all states."
