Sen. Ben Nelson Warms to State-Option Public Option
Democratic senator Ben Nelson, a member of the Senate Finance Committee who has opposed the public option, seems to have warmed somewhat to a proposal Senator Tom Carper of Delaware whereby individual states would have the option of implementing a public option plan; said Nelson, "I think there is a legitimate argument for giving the states an option to solve this problem, which is essentially an insurance problem.’’ You can read more here.
