The Way Forward: Back to Basics

With the loss of the Senate's 60-vote super-majority, Pres. Obama is urging legislators not to attempt to jam the current bill through, but to to consider a pared down bill focusing on "those elements of the package that people agree on." According to MSNBC those might include

limiting the ability of insurance companies to deny coverage to people with medical problems, allowing young adults to stay on their parents' policies, helping small businesses and low-income people pay insurance premiums and changing government health care for the elderly to encourage payment for quality care instead of sheer volume of services.
