Public Favors Letting the Wealthy Pay for Increased Health Benefits

An AP poll asked Americans how they thought the costs for health care reform should be paid for. In income tax increase on all Americans was rejected by 75 percent, with only 19 perent in favor. A tax surcharge on individuals making more than $250,000 was favored by 56 percent and opposed by 37 percent. Taxing high-end insurance policies was opposed by 56 percent and favored by only 29 percent. You can read more about the AP poll in the New York Times here.
