A Kaiser Foundation survey shows that public support for reform has, not surprisingly, slipped some what since April, but still reflects a generally positive sentiment toward it. For example, 53 percent agreed that "it's more important than ever to take on health care reform now." That's down from 59 percent in April. Regarding a public option government-administered public health insurance option similar to Medicare to compete with private insurance plans, 59 percent saw it as important, while 72 percent thought it was important in April. A memo from the President's chief pollster tells members of Congress of widespread support. One of the telling details in his memo is that when asked if they think President Obama's health care reform is a good idea, only 36 percent say say it is, but when supplied with a description of it, that number rises to 53 percent.
