Bob Dole Urges Obama to Take a Strong Stance

Bob Dole, former Republican leader of the Senate and 1996 presidential nominee, was reputed to want to work with President Clinton on health care reform. That didn't work out, but now he is urging President Obama to take a stronger stance on the issue:
If I were a White House adviser, I would suggest that the day Congress reconvenes, President Barack Obama’s version of reform should be introduced by Democratic leaders in the House and Senate. Health care reform is the vital issue of our time, and Obama should be out front with his specific plan on this make-or-break issue.
That sounds pretty much like what we're hearing about the more "prescriptive" approach that Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod are previewing for the September 9 congressional address (see below).
