Because of Health Care Costs, Lafayette Joins IACT's Health Insurance Trust

"Health care costs are just staggering," says Mayor Tony Roswarski. "They are our number one budgetary concern now because of the increases."

Because quotes on the city's health care premiums came in 48 to 23 percent higher than last year's, Lafayette will become the first city in the state to sign up for an insurance trust run by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. Joining the trust is expected to save the city $1.7 million in insurance costs.

Mayor Roswarski says, "We believe [joining the trust] is one of the best ways that we can help control our long-term costs."
