Survey: 77% Want Public Option
A new SurveyUSA shows that 77 percent of the public agreed that a public option to compete with private insurance was important. That included 72 percent of Republicans (!), 71 percent of independents, and 86 percent of Democrats. An identically worded poll in June showed 76 percent support for a public option. So, perhaps the summer of vitriol against "socialized medicine" has not had that much effect on public support for the public option. You can read more about the survey here.
